Great organiser - let down by design flaw!

This looked as if it was to be a great organiser, very similar to the Flex binder, in being able to hold notebooks in the cover pockets, but with rings, for those of us who still like to organise papers in the traditional Filofax way. It's a great leather - kind of semi-formal but great for both men and women. As a bonus for the 1 in 8 of us who are left-handed, the Holborn doesn't have the usual note pad pocket on the right. These are always impossible for us lefties to reach, because the rings are exactly where your writing hand needs to be! There is only one pen holder (designed for right-handers of course!) Alas, whilst the main pockets look to be idential to Flex, the Holborn left and right pockets only extend halfway, making it impossible to slot in a notebook or diary - even a Flex one - without first cutting off half the cover! This is madness as this was surely their intended purpose? The inner pockets ARE almost full width but if you try to slot a notebook "backwards", it will clash with the binder rings when closed. This could - and should - have been thought through at the design stage. It limits the use of the pockets and is a shame because, in all other respects, the Holborn is a great product and a welcome change from the traditional A5 design.

I love this. The leather isn't that uber-smooth shiny stuff that manages to look plastic; you can see the leather grain, and it's beautifully soft. I'm actually looking forward to it aquiring a few scuffs for that "used" look. Useful pouches and a handy size, somewhere comfortably between "too big" and "too small". It's not too masculine (I'm a lady!) but also isn't an attempt at funky youth - I'll be taking it to meetings, dressed down with a yellow bic biro in the pen holder. My only concern is the variety of refills for A5 - I might be missing something, but I can't see much of an "academic year" range?
